A curious idiom, common in Greece nowadays, by which places are spoken of as ‘to the so-and-so,’ reminding one of the French idiom, Le Mans and Au Mans. (Stamboul is derived, it is said, from its Greek name stin polin, στιν πολιν, to the city.)
